The Alliance for Peace building (AFP) and the Student Union Government (SUG), in Imo State, have endorsed the governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Uche Ben Odunzeh, ahead of the November 11 poll.
In a statement jointly signed yesterday by SUG Council Secretary, Ignatius Onuoha and AFP President (Imo State chapter), Ajuchukwu Nwabuogu, they revealed that their endorsement Odunzeh was predicated on his clear vision for the state and his creed on youths emancipation.
“We the students union government of Imo state under the aegis of the Alliance For Peace building (AFP) hereby announce our wholehearted support for Hon. Uche Ben Odunzeh as the preferred candidate for the upcoming gubernatorial election on November 11th ,2023.
“We underscore the critical need for the youth to assume a prominent role in the governance of imo state. It is our firm belief that the era of senior citizens dominating government should transition to one where they take on advisory roles.
“Odunzeh embodies the qualities we seek in a leader for imo state. His boundless energy and unwavering commitement to addressing the challenges faced by students and the wider population have earned him the trust and endorsement of the student community.
“Odunzeh is the candidate capable of ushering in positive change and prioritizing the interest of the youth and the people of Imo state as a whole. Our endorsement signifies a strong desire for a more inclusive and youth-driven government that can effectively address the pressing issues confronting our state,” the statement read.
