An Abuja-based medical practitioner, Dr. Ikechukwu Orji, says 30 per cent of community members screened at Kaba, a community in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), were found to be hypertensive.
Dr. Orji, the Head of the Primary Health Care Department for Kwali Area Council, made the disclosure on Wednesday during a free medical outreach he led to the Kaba community in Abuja.
He revealed that preliminary screenings in Kaba also showed that 10 per cent had abnormal blood sugar readings, indicating probable diabetes.
