The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), has dismissed recent claims by former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar regarding the appointment of Xpress Payments as one of the channels used in the Treasury Single Account (TSA) revenue collection system.
It described the claims as “incorrect, misleading, and capable of unnecessarily politicising a purely administrative and technical process.”
In a statement, weekend, by Technical Assistant on Broadcast Media to the Executive Chairman, FIRS, Arabinrin Aderonke Atoyebi, the Service clarified that it did not operate any exclusive or single-gateway revenue collection arrangement and has not granted monopoly rights to any private company over government revenues.
