In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Comrade Jamilu Aliyu Charanchi, the group faulted what it sees as a growing international narrative—particularly from the United States—portraying violence in Plateau and Benue states as genocide, while downplaying the heavier casualty figures recorded in Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna, Kebbi, Borno and other northern states.
CNG argued that the recent wave of violence bears the imprint of a “deliberate and well-funded agenda” orchestrated within and outside Nigeria, warning that global actors appear to be buying into misleading claims.
