Speaking to journalists in Osogbo on Thursday, Akande dismissed claims about a rival candidate emerging from the party, describing such reports as baseless and orchestrated by “political jobbers seeking attention for pecuniary gain.”
The party chairman said the purported candidacy of Clement Bamigbola, allegedly produced through a factional primary, holds no legitimacy within the party’s legal structure.
He referenced the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) consistent recognition of the Barrister Maxwell Mgbudem-led leadership in previous elections across Anambra and Ekiti States, expressing confidence that the same would apply in Osun.
