The All Progressives Congress (APC) has thrown its weight behind President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State. According to Felix Morka, APC’s National Publicity Secretary, the suspended governor, Siminalayi Fubara, undermined democracy in the state.
Morka alleged that Fubara’s actions, including attempting to remove the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly and freezing the flow of funds to the Assembly, were a slap in the face of democracy. He also criticized opposition leaders, including Peter Obi, for remaining silent while Fubara’s actions escalated.
