Jesutega Onokpasa, a well-known lawyer, political analyst, and member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has died.
The news was shared on Tuesday by fellow APC supporter Okezie J. Atañi through a social media post.
Onokpasa, who was part of the APC’s Presidential Campaign Council Publicity Committee in 2023, passed away under undisclosed circumstances.
He was recognized for his strong political commentary and frequent television appearances where he staunchly defended President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
However, Onokpasa recently withdrew his support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections. He cited growing insecurity, economic hardship, and what he saw as the President’s disregard for loyal party members as his reasons.
His passing has led to an outpouring of reactions from political figures, who are mourning the loss of a passionate and outspoken voice in Nigerian politics.
