The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the BATOGD MOVEMENT Midterm Community Assessment and Review Tour, led by Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has debunked a report alleging that the lawmaker used soldiers to intimidate residents during his recent empowerment programme in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State.
In a statement signed by Asegbe A. O on behalf of the LOC and the people of Ijebu-North Local Government, the committee described the allegation published under the headline, “Ijebu-North LG Lambasts OGD for Alleged Use of Soldiers to Intimidate Constituents as Military Launches Probe” as false, distracting, and a deliberate attempt to undermine genuine service to the people.
According to the LOC, the event in question, held on Sunday, 30 November 2025, was the sixth in a series of empowerment programmes already conducted across other Local Government Areas in the Ogun East Senatorial District. The programme reportedly provided financial support, tools, and materials to households, market women, youths, and small business owners in the community.
