The Cross River State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday removed its chairman, Alphonsus Ogar Eba, after members of the State Executive Committee (SEC) passed an overwhelming vote of no confidence on him amid prolonged internal disputes.
Eba’s impeachment, endorsed by 30 out of 32 SEC members, followed months of complaints alleging financial mismanagement, high-handed leadership, and the shutdown of the party secretariat for an extended period.
With the chairman’s removal, the SEC immediately mandated the Deputy Chairman, Ntufam Ekum Ekok Ojogu, to assume office as Acting Chairman pending ratification by the APC National Secretariat.
