Tens of thousands of jubilant supporters, party leaders, and stakeholders trooped out in solidarity, waving APC flags and chanting victory songs as the governor led what many described as the biggest political appreciation event in the state’s history. The Yaradua Hall at the famous Murtala Square was overstretched to capacity with party faithful, youth, market women groups, civil society leaders, religious and traditional rulers.
Governor Sani, in an emotional address, said the triumph belonged to the ordinary voters who stood firmly behind the APC, even in the face of stiff opposition. He extended special gratitude to party leaders, women and youth groups, religious and traditional rulers, and other stakeholders whose sacrifices, he said, made the victory possible.
