The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the distribution of sensitive materials to local government areas in Edo State in preparation for Saturday’s by-elections.
Papers News reports that the distribution exercise took place at the Benin branch of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), where political party representatives and members of civil society organisations were present to observe the proceedings.
Confirming the development, the Edo State’s Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Prof. Anugbum Onuoha, explained that it was important for all political parties fielding candidates in the elections to be involved in the process to ensure transparency.
