The detailed accusations were released as part of the organisation’s “#HoldYourGov campaign under the Make Nigeria Great Again (MANGA) initiative,” which aims to “federalise citizen accountability” by focusing scrutiny on state-level governance rather than just federal administration.

“For too long, we have been inclined to mostly focus our outrage on Aso Rock while the real architects of our daily direct suffering (our state governors and state and local representatives) operate unchecked in our backyards,” the organisation stated in their release. “That ends now.”

Dr. Ope Banwo, founder of Naija Lives Matter and a self-identified indigene of Ogun State, emphasised that the campaign transcends partisan politics: “This is not about an Obidient or the Obidient Movement attacking the governor. They have nothing to do with this. I myself am no longer part of the Obidient Movement. I do not belong to any party, and Naija Lives Matter is no longer aligned with any party or personality.”
