Residents of the Dogon Gada community in Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, may soon heave a sigh of relief as the FCT Administration has approved a contract for the provision of emergency evacuation of waste from open dumps, waterways, and streams in their area.
The decision, ratified at the latest FCT Executive Committee, EXCO, meeting chaired by Minister Nyesom Wike, involves the release of N111,913,176 (One Hundred and Eleven Million, Nine Hundred and Thirteen Thousand, One Hundred and Seventy-Six Naira) for the execution of the cleanup project.
Officials said the initiative is part of a broader effort to address longstanding complaints about waste disposal across the territory.
