Dr. Okupe, a native of Iperu in Ogun State, died at the age of 72, just 15 days before what would have been his 73rd birthday. Throughout his distinguished career, he served Nigeria in various capacities, most notably as a presidential adviser to multiple administrations.
In his heartfelt tribute, Senator Daniel characterized Dr. Okupe as “a bold, articulate, and highly resourceful leader who contributed immensely to national discourse and governance.” The former governor emphasized that Okupe’s passing represents a significant loss not only to Ogun State but to Nigeria as a whole.
“Dr. Okupe was a man of remarkable intellect and unwavering commitment to public service,” Senator Daniel stated. “His contributions to our national development and his dedication to improving governance in Nigeria will not be forgotten.”
