Edo Govt Gives Ex-Deputy Gov One-Week Ultimatum To Return State Assets

The Edo State Government has issued a seven-day ultimatum to former deputy governor, Godwin Omobayo, to return all government property still in his possession.


Omobayo, who was sworn in on April 8, 2024, by then Chief Judge Daniel Okungbowa following his nomination by former Governor, Godwin Obaseki, assumed office after the impeachment of Phillip Shaibu. But with Shaibu’s subsequent reinstatement by the courts, Omobayo’s tenure was declared illegal.
