Nearly two years after two-year-old Ivan Omorhiakogbe was fatally shot and his one-year-old brother, Eromonsele, severely injured in the left eye by stray bullets from operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) during a raid in Delta State, the agency has yet to compensate the family or facilitate the promised overseas treatment for the surviving child.
The tragic incident occurred on July 13, 2023, at the family’s shop in the Okpanam area of Delta State during an anti-drug operation. Ivan died on the spot, while his younger brother sustained a gunshot wound that threatens permanent blindness.
