In a move to address recurring industrial actions by trade unions, the Federal Government has approved the National Industrial Relations Policy (NIRP) 2025 to regulate labour relations and reduce strikes nationwide.
The decision was announced on Wednesday following the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, presided over by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, stated that the policy aims to foster harmony between employers and employees, bringing Nigeria’s industrial relations standards in line with international best practices.
