FG charges 11 newly-licensed varsities to align with national priorities

The Federal Government has charged 11 new private universities licensed by the National Universities Commission, NUC, to align their operations with national priorities.


Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Alausa, gave the charge while presenting provisional licenses to the 11 new private universities in Abuja on Wednesday.


Alausa emphasised that a true university should be a hub for education, talent development, and innovation, supported by competent staff and modern facilities, prioritising research and extending beyond local boundaries to global relevance.
