The House Committees on Police Affairs and Pensions have asked retired police officers camping outside the National Assembly to return home. The lawmakers assured them that their grievances are being addressed.
The committees explained that the House has passed a bill establishing the Police Pension Board, which will exempt police retirees from the contributory pension scheme. The bill is expected to be sent to the Senate for concurrence and then to the President for assent.
