Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has expressed his support for President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, citing it as a necessary step to ensure stability.
In a statement made during a media interaction with select journalists in Abuja on Friday, Wike stated that the removal of Governor Siminalayi Fubara was crucial, asserting that the state’s political turmoil had reached a critical point.
Papers News reports that Wike, who is a former governor of Rivers State, defended President Tinubu’s action in suspending Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and members of the state House of Assembly following months of political crisis.
