IMF Urges Nigeria to Maintain Prudent Spending After Hard Economic Reforms

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has called on Nigeria to exercise fiscal prudence following the implementation of tough economic reforms that have helped the country improve its revenue savings.


Speaking during the Fiscal Monitor press conference at the ongoing 2025 IMF/World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington, D.C., IMF Director of Fiscal Affairs Vitor Gaspar stressed the importance of building fiscal buffers and maintaining disciplined public spending.
