The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has dismissed allegations by a political party that the volume of online pre-registrations recorded in Osun State is inconsistent with historical patterns and demographic realities.
In a statement on Thursday, Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Mr. Rotimi Oyekanmi, said there is nothing unusual about the data, stressing that similar trends had been observed in previous Continuous Voter Registration, CVR, exercises.
INEC recalled that Osun also led other states in online pre-registration figures during the 2021/2022 CVR, consistently topping weekly records, adding that at the time, Osun State accounted for over 700,000 registrations before the exercise concluded in 2022.
