‘Culture Is a Living Asset For The Future’
Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has signed an Executive Order mandating the state’s traditional councils to continue organising annual Durbar festivals, in a renewed push to preserve Kano’s centuries-old cultural traditions.
Papers News reports that the governor made the announcement on Saturday, October 25, 2025, during the official opening of the maiden Kano Festival of Arts and Culture (KanFest), known in Hausa as Kalankuwa, held at the Kano Trade Fair Complex.
