Kogi trains1,400 frontline workers to combat Schistosomiasis

The Kogi State Ministry of Health in collaboration with Sightsavers have trained no fewer that 1,400 Front line workers in a major push to eliminate Neglected Tropic Diseases (NTDs) in the state.


Musa Momohjimoh, the Kogi State Ag. NTD Coordinator, l who spoke to journalists over the weekend after the week-long training in Lokoja, disclosed it was conducted in communities at local government level making it easy for participation.


He said “Participants include: 72 health workers, 1,200 teachers and 200 Community Drug Distributors (CDDs) across Ibaji, Lokoja, and Kogi Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state”.
