The Kwara State Government has raised concerns over a growing healthcare crisis as it struggles to recruit medical doctors, despite having official approval to hire, due to the ongoing brain drain popularly known as the ‘Japa’ syndrome.
Speaking at the 2025 first-quarter inter-ministerial press briefing in Ilorin, Dr. Abdulraheem Abdulmalik, Executive Secretary of the State Hospital Management Board, revealed that the state’s health sector is in dire need of medical personnel.
