FCT Minister of State, Dr Mariya Mahmoud, has called for a national response to the rising burden of cancer, warning that the disease has become one of Nigeria’s gravest health emergencies demanding stronger partnerships and sustained commitment.
Speaking at the opening of the 2025 International Cancer Week in Abuja, the Minister said the country must move beyond rhetoric to concrete action that guarantees prevention, access, and equity in cancer care.
