Former First Lady Michelle Obama is setting the record straight — she’s not divorcing Barack Obama. In her latest appearance on the Work in Progress podcast with Sophia Bush, Michelle addressed the wave of online rumors that erupted after Barack attended several high-profile events alone, including Donald Trump’s inauguration and the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter.
Some were quick to assume trouble in paradise, but Michelle dismissed the gossip with grace and honesty. “This year, people couldn’t imagine I was simply making choices for myself,” she said. “It had to be that Barack and I were splitting up. Like, it’s impossible for a grown woman to decide something for herself without people thinking the worst.”
