Nigeria Police Halt Tinted Glass Permit Enforcement Following Court Order

The police had announced on December 15, 2025, that enforcement would resume on January 2, 2026, as part of measures to enhance public safety and internal security across the country.


However, the Force was served with an interim court order on December 17, 2025, in Suit No. HOR/FHR/M/31/2025, which blocks enforcement until the full case is heard or the order is overturned.


Inspector-General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun emphasized the Force’s commitment to upholding the rule of law while fulfilling its mandate to protect citizens and property. He stated that the police will continue using lawful, intelligence-based approaches to address security concerns nationwide.
