TCN’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Engr Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, announced the achievement in his end-of-year address to staff, partners and stakeholders, calling 2025 “a remarkable and historic year” for the company and Nigeria’s power sector.
Abdulaziz credited the record performance to targeted investments in infrastructure rehabilitation, expanded transformer capacity and consistent maintenance of transmission assets across the network. These improvements have increased TCN’s wheeling capacity to 8,700MW, better positioning the company to meet Nigeria’s growing electricity demand.
Between January 2024 and November 2025, TCN commissioned 82 new power transformers, adding more than 8,500 megavolt-amperes (MVA) to the national grid.
