The PDP caucus in the House of Representatives has called on the National Judicial Council (NJC) to address the growing tendency of judges undermining Nigeria’s democracy. They expressed deep concern over judicial interference in the internal affairs of political parties.
The caucus’s position followed a recent ruling by the Federal High Court in Abuja. The court declined to grant an interim injunction stopping the PDP from holding its planned meetings and national convention. However, the court made pronouncements that could be interpreted as halting the PDP’s democratic process.
