Peter Obi Raises Alarm: ‘Nigeria Is Collapsing, Even People in Agbada Now Beg Me for Money’

Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has raised a fresh alarm over Nigeria’s worsening economic situation, saying the country is collapsing before the eyes of its citizens. Speaking during an emergency meeting of the Labour Party’s National Executive Council (NEC) in Abuja on Wednesday, Obi described the current state of the nation as dire and urged members of the opposition not to be silenced by fear.


The former Anambra State Governor lamented that even individuals previously regarded as well-off are now struggling to survive. “Nigeria is collapsing. Anybody can say anything—the numbers are clear, the indices are clear—more and more people are poorer,” Obi stated.
