In a statement released by his spokesman Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu said he personally conveyed his condolences to Joshua regarding the deaths of his two associates and offered prayers for his recovery. The president confirmed that Joshua assured him he was receiving quality medical care.
Tinubu also spoke with Joshua’s mother to offer support and prayers, noting that she expressed appreciation for his call. Additionally, the president confirmed speaking with Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, who was at the hospital with the boxer and pledged to ensure Joshua receives optimal medical attention.
The president, who is currently traveling abroad, had earlier posted a message on X expressing sympathy for Joshua and his family over the incident, which occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
