The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of 238 senior police officers, with 12 Commissioners of Police rising to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs).
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the Commission’s spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, who explained that the promotions spanned various state commands, departments, and specialised units, including Intelligence, Fraud, and Eastern Ports.
Papers News understands that the newly promoted AIGs include prominent state police commissioners and officers in charge of sensitive commands. Among them are Johnson Oluwole Adenola, Commissioner of Police, Oyo State; Ako Benedict Gabriel, CP Anti-Fraud; Ahmadu Tijani Abdullahi, CP Jigawa; Emmanuel Adegbola Aina, Acting AIG, Force Intelligence Bureau; and Omolara Ibidun Oloruntola.
