Sanwo-Olu Sends Goodwill Messages to Muslims, Christians as Ramadan and Lent Begin

The Governor, speaking through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, called on adherents of both faiths to channel the spiritual energy of the fasting period into fervent prayers for peace, unity and the overall wellbeing of Nigeria.


Sanwo-Olu described the twin seasons as profoundly significant, noting that both traditions share core values of self-discipline, devotion and surrender to God’s will. He expressed his conviction that the uncommon occurrence of Lent and Ramadan beginning on the same day carries a deeper divine message for Nigeria and the world.


The Governor urged Lagosians and Nigerians to harness the solemnity of the season to pray against evil and misfortune, while also appealing to citizens to embrace tolerance, kindness and mutual respect in their daily interactions.
