The cleric is seeking summons against George Udom and Bello Isiaka on charges including conspiracy, attempted public disturbance, and criminal defamation at the Chief Magistrate Court on Ibrahim Taiwo Road.
According to court documents filed December 24, 2025, the defendants allegedly posted a fabricated statement on their Facebook accounts Tuesday morning claiming Gumi threatened the family of Defence Minister, retired Gen. Christopher Musa. The posts warned that the minister’s family would face elimination unless military operations against bandits ceased.
The cleric maintains the fabricated posts damage his reputation as a religious leader recognized for promoting peace both within Nigeria and internationally. He contends the false attribution could incite unrest in Kaduna State, particularly in Southern Kaduna, and potentially endanger his safety by portraying him as a suspect should any attack occur on the minister’s family.
