A solemn Sunday service turned tragic in Wiesmath, in the district of Wiener Neustadt, after a beloved parish priest, Rev. Fr. Raimund Beisteiner, collapsed during Holy Mass and later died.
Witnesses said the priest slumped while returning the consecrated Hosts to the tabernacle, causing shock and panic among worshippers inside the packed church. Parishioners and emergency responders immediately rushed to his aid and made efforts to resuscitate him.
Despite the swift intervention, Fr. Beisteiner was pronounced dead shortly afterward inside the church, leaving the congregation in deep grief and disbelief.
