Tsiga was rescued by military operation- DHQ insists

The Defence Headquarters, DHQ, has refuted claims that senior military officers pooled funds to secure the release of retired Brigadier-General Mahrazu Tsiga, who was abducted and held for 56 days.


Director of Defence Information, Brigadier-General Tukur Gusau, in a statement on Monday, described the assertion by retired Brigadier-General Ismaila Abdullahi as misleading and dismissive of the intense efforts by troops involved in Operation Fansan Yamma.


Gusau emphasized that the military had launched a comprehensive Search and Rescue mission, combining both kinetic and non-kinetic strategies, which ultimately led to the release of the former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC.
