The United States Supreme Court has upheld President Donald Trump’s controversial ban on transgender individuals serving in the military, effectively allowing the administration to enforce the policy nationwide.
In a brief and unsigned ruling issued on Tuesday, the court lifted previous injunctions that had blocked the enforcement of the ban, originally introduced by executive order at the start of Trump’s second term. The decision clears the way for the Pentagon to begin implementing the restrictions, which had been stalled by legal challenges in lower courts.
