Senate President Godswill Akpabio has firmly denied ever considering resignation in light of recent allegations of sexual harassment, declaring on Thursday that he remains committed to his role as leader of the National Assembly.
Akpabio made the statement during plenary at the Senate chamber while responding to a vote of confidence passed by Senate Majority Leader, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele. Bamidele, who represents Ekiti Central, said those expecting Akpabio’s resignation would be disappointed, noting the Senate remains focused on its duties and committed to due process.
