A Federal High Court in Port Harcourt has fixed May 12, 2025, for the substantive hearing of a suit filed by former federal lawmaker and PDP governorship aspirant, Farah Dagogo, challenging the suspension of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, and members of the state legislature following a state of emergency declaration.
In the suit (FHC/PH/CS/50/2025), Dagogo is contesting President Bola Tinubu’s March 18, 2025 proclamation of a state of emergency in Rivers, which effectively dissolved democratic governance for an initial six-month period and installed retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas as sole administrator.
